Bahiram is the place near to my home town Paratwada in Amravati district, Maharashtra. I don't remember exactly the Kilometers...may be it is 20Km away from Paratwada. I had been there first time when I was 13. During the month of December and January a fair is held where you can get all types of amusement. The name Bahiram of this place is said to be drawn from the name of god Bahiram Bab whose temple is located on a hilltop. It is said that someone put here a hard nut and applied saffron as a mark of respect. Soon people started applying more and more saffron. Today the hard nut of 10 cm diameter has became a huge shape.
There is a tell that a lake which is dried up now in the heart of the location is used to yield the pots you need for cooking and thus you never need to bring anything from the home. Later the people stole the pots from the lake and later the lake dried up. On 26 January huge crowd attends the fair as it is public holiday and suppose to be the last week of the fair.
